A couple of weeks ago I told you the story about my sister and I going on a shopping trip to purchase some new running shoes for her. This past Saturday, we returned to that same shop. The shoes we had selected weren’t working out as well as hoped and we needed to exchange them for a different kind. These things happen when trying to find shoes that are going to work for you.
This shop has an excellent return policy. You have a 30 day window where you can return the shoes. No questions asked.
My sister had been running in that particular pair of shoes two weeks. She was concerned that they might give her grief. Nope. Not a lick of trouble!
We went through much of the same process as we had the two weeks before. She tried on many different shoes. Different brands. Different models. Some women’s shoes. Some men’s shoes. She settled on something waaayyy different from her initial purchase and I think it was a good purchase. She has another 30 days to decide because they re-started her 30 day guarantee! I was hoping they would do that but wasn’t sure. They did! This is a good shop.
Why are re re-visiting our shopping trip? Isn’t that just a tad dull? Well, yes and then again, no.
See, the other thing that happened last time we were there was the “Little Girl” who helped us. In reality she’s a Sr. in college, so not really all that little, it’s just that I feel like a complete dinosaur around her. HA!
On our last visit she totally cracked me up by innocently saying that she hoped she would be like me and still running when she’s old. Hahaha!!! I’m NOT old! Well, I AM more than old enough to be her mother but we won’t go into that…
This time, she was telling us how she was relieved that she was almost out of school.
See, being a college athlete, there are certain rules you must obey. This especially pertains to winnings you might earn from racing. To be honest, the thought had never entered my mind but seeing as she brought it up, well, I sat in the car afterwards and laughed and laughed and laughed.
She has had such a terrible time in college with her racing in local events, events not associated with school races. See, she keeps WINNING these local races! Sad but true.
Because she keeps winning these races, well, there are monetary awards and I’ll be darned if it wasn’t been just awful that for the last four years she has had to keep turning down and/or returning all of the money she has won!
After telling me this, she looks at me like, of course I would understand!
All I was thinking to myself was, *deadpan* “Yea, I have that same problem all the time. NOT!”
Hahaha!!!
Oh, to be young again and to have such “trials.”
This kid just totally cracks me up! I wish her will as she graduates. 🙂
