Last night I had today’s blog post all figured out. We were going to chat about runners and math. About how, if you’re a runner, you are constantly doing math in your head while running. Sounds kind of dull just putting it out there like that but if you’re a runner and are reading this, you will understand immediately what I’m talking about. So, enough said, because…
Something happened today that made me ditch that blog topic. I think that maybe I received one of the nicest and most thoughtful gifts ever!
First off, just a quick backtrack to yesterday and today’s run. Just want to say that yesterday was my last long run for the 50 mile training. I ran 24 miles and this morning had an 8 mile recovery run.
After lunch, I was on FB when I received an email notification. I hopped over to my email and found out that somebody had named a star after me? I thought it was spam but on a lark, I copy/pasted a bit of the email and posted it to FB.
Not long after that, a lady said, “Didn’t you get your download information!?!” The email had not been spam! It was real! Somebody really HAD named a star after me! She commented again on that FB post that she was forwarding her personal email confirmation for her order. Soon it showed up in my inbox.
It was from Aiden’s mom! #IRun4Aiden
She had gone to the trouble to find twin stars in the Gemini constellation. She named one star after Aiden and the other star after me! She had found the date to be the same as the day Aiden and I had been matched~the day I had found out I would be running for Aiden and that they had found out that I would be Aiden’s runner!
See, our Matching Anniversary is coming up here in a couple of weeks. So is my birthday. This is my Happy Birthday and Happy Match Day present!
Isn’t that the coolest ~ most thoughtful gift ever? Very creative on her part! I am deeply touched by this gift. Nobody’s ever gone to that kind of trouble to think of something like that for me before. Pretty cool beans stuff!!!
