Seeing as today is a rest day and all I want to do today is EAT, we’re going to chat about Paxton. We haven’t talked about him for a while so I thought we would today.
First off, let’s get this rest day/wanting to eat everything that’s not nailed down thing off my chest:
Last weekend, MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I went to a Hamfest. We boarded Paxton at “Reggie’s House” while we were gone. He loves going there!
Reggie doesn’t allow puppies to wear ties while they are there so we had to take off Paxton’s necktie and leave it here at home. Actually, Reggie is having the dogs leave their collars at home, too! Not exactly sure why about the collar part but whatever works…
MFH brought Paxton home while I ran home on Monday. When I got home, I noticed Paxton wearing his collar but not his tie. I asked MFH about the tie.
“I threw it away. It was all dirty and stinky. It’s gone.”
Oh! Okay. The day continued as normal. Paxton begged for his treat of Nutty Bar and I took his pic and posted it to FB like I always do. *There are some people who check in on FB just to see if Paxton got his Nutty Bar or not. This is serious stuff!
Boy, did I catch grief that day! “Why does Paxton look different?” “Where’s Paxton’s tie!?!”
Tuesday was the same thing. “Paxton needs a new tie.” “Buy Paxton a tie!” “I’ll MAIL Paxton a tie! He NEEDS a tie!”
Wednesday rolled around and people were really, really voicing their displeasure about my dog not wearing a necktie. Yikes!
So, Thursday I was scheduled for a haircut. MFH drove with me to Starkville for my haircut because we were going to meet #1 Son for lunch at a new burger place that had just opened. We enjoyed our burgers and then I had to zip over for my haircut. While I was getting my ears lowered, MFH went to the Thrift Store and bought new ties for Paxton.
Can you believe it!?! We bought neckties for our dog so our online friends would quit giving us grief about our dog! How funny is that!?!
So, Paxton is now sporting a new necktie and I have to admit, he looks pretty spiffy!
Between you and me, I think Paxton missed his necktie and was happy to get a new one. What a goofy dog!
Castro approves of the new tie, too. Those two, Castro and Paxton, they are a pair. Best friends.
Running again tomorrow. 6 miles at Marathon Pace. 6 miles easy pace on Sunday before church and then I head into my last hard/high mileage week of training for the 50 Mile race. Let’s do this!!!
