It’s Wednesday and a “Pinch myself, I’m dreaming” day.
Once week from now I will be in Berlin and probably strolling around the zoo. That is the first touristy thing MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I have planned while in Germany.
Why the zoo? Well, because we will have been sitting in a plane forever and will need to stretch out the legs. The zoo is a nice, low key way to walk around, enjoy cute, cuddly animals and relax from our trip.
So, with that in mind, I started packing today.
Today!?!
Yes. Today.
I will have my carry on suitcase and then our checked bag. I am packing my carry on suitcase. It is specifically for things for race day. Period. Absolutely nothing for race day will go in the checked bag. If that bag ends up in Timbuktu, I don’t care. As long as I have my stuff for the race, we’re good.
Well, if my checked bag ended up in Tumbuktu, I would be upset, but the world wouldn’t come to a screeching halt like it would if I didn’t have my stuff for the race. HA!
I have packed my racing singlet, shorts, two pair of socks (just in case), Infinit fuel (actually some of that is going into the checked bag as well. You never know with TSA), my racing shoes, sports bra, visor, water bottles and Garmin. I have Aiden’s pic for the back of my singlet and his hope beads. I also packed a few Gu’s in case TSA gives me fits with the Infinit.
Am I missing anything? After my last training run here stateside, I will pack that pair of shoes as well. If there’s room for other things, then I’ll toss in a change of clothes, etc.
MFH (My Favorite Husband) is off getting a new drivers license.
The end of last week I had a race dream. In it MFH and I got to Germany and were going through customs. They asked MFH for his Drivers License. He couldn’t find it. He had left in at home in Mississippi. They wouldn’t let him into the country. Not Cool.
When I woke up, I told him, “Don’t you DARE leave the house without your drivers license.” He poo-pooed me and we went along with life.
Today, we went to get a new license plate for our truck. They asked for, guess what, his drivers license. Can you guess what he didn’t have with him? If you guessed drivers licence you would be right!
We came home and turned the house upside down. It is no-where to be found. He just left the house to go and get a new one. Poor guy.
In case you’re wondering, yesterday I packed our Passports in my carry on “purse.” That’s covered. HA!
I have little piles of things around the house. They will be going into the checked bag. They are in the order in which they need to be packed. I’m actually kinda organized!
Paxton is still loving on his pink puppy. Last night, though, he chewed off its nose and when I came back from my run this morning, there were bits of “fluff” all over my living room floor. If he keeps that up, I’ll have to put his pink puppy away for a little while. Poor Paxton.
