We have company!!!
#1 Daughter and #1 Boyfriend drove from Colorado to our place in Mississippi for their vacation. They arrived at 2:40 am today. It took them 26 hrs of driving to reach our place.
I had chatted with #1 Daughter around dinner time yesterday and she thought that they would probably reach our place 11:30(ish). I took my meds that turn me into a doorstop figuring that they would have worked their way through my system by the time they reached our house.
Not wanting to miss their arrival, I slept on the sofa. I wanted to be close to the door.
I did not sleep well. At. All. Ugh! I would wake pretty much every 20 minutes, opening one eye trying to read the time on my cell phone. My meds had done such a number on me last night that sometimes I was unable to read the time. It was pretty sad! HA!
In between those 20 minutes, I had a variety of dreams of them reaching the house. I would think, “Goodie! They’re here!” wake up and check my phone to see the time. smh
11:30 came and went. So did midnight!
It must’ve been 12:45 when I texted #1 Daughter to see where the were. I finally heard back that they were in Tupelo. That is only an hour north of me.
I set my internal clock for one hour.
That hour came and went and they still were not here!
I fell back asleep again and dreamed that they were here. Finally!!! I opened the front door to welcome them only to discover that it was snowing!!! I said to them, “You brought snow!?!”
That’s when #1 Daughter knocked on the door for real!
I opened the door, still fuzzy about the dream, muttering about them bringing snow. They kinda gave me a funny look. Haha!!! I was trying very hard to wake up enough to make sense. What a mess!!!
They pretty much went straight to bed. Can’t blame them. I crashed on the sofa again and slept very well for 2 more hours. That’s the magic time Paxton decided that I should wake up for the day.
*groan*
#1 Daughter is looking fabulous and happy. It is wonderful to see her happy!!! YAY!!!
#1 Boyfriend is a very nice guy!!! This makes me happy!!! He treats her well and is very complimentary when he speaks of her. They are a good match!
“And they lived happily ever after?” Here’s hoping!!! 🙂
