Ever since I was a little kid, I have loved birthdays!  Really!!!  They are the next best thing to Christmas and today just happens to be My Birthday.

Not all of my birthdays have been the best day ever, I have to admit.  When I turned 6, I came down with chicken pox.  One year, I had my braces put on.  My 16th birthday, we had my Grandpa’s funeral.  Things like that but those years did nothing to diminish my love for birthdays.

Now, the numbers are starting to be bigger.  Today, I turn 53.  I get AARP junk mail on a consistent basis however, I have yet to be offered a Sr. Discount when going out dining.  Every now and then when purchasing alcohol, I still get carded!  Hey, I’ll take that!  HA!!!

Today my birthday has been very nice.

If you’ve been following the blog this week, you will know that MFH (My Favorite Husband) has been out of town all week.  He got home this morning!  That is a super birthday present!  He came home with laundry needing to be done AND he brought me some birthday presents as well.

He did good!   🙂

We went out for lunch and I think the rest of the day will be low key.  It’s been a lovely day.  I’ve heard from both of my kids.  My sister took me out for lunch yesterday.  My In-Laws sent me a card (with cash, thank you!).  My husband brought me all the nifty cool things from Birmingham and I got a text from my parents.

I have a special beer I’ve been saving for this evening.  I show you a pic, but I’m not sharing.  Sorry. Not sorry.   HA!
