So, today is the big day. 1000 days consecutive logging on MyFitnessPal (MFP). Quadruple digits! Seeing as I am a numbers nerd when it comes to logging my running miles and logging miles, I am pretty excited about today.
I was trying to decide how to commemorate 1000 days of logging and how much I have changed since I have joined MFP, I decided I would *gulp* post before and after pics.
Most people on MFP know me as the runner. A lot of people don’t remember me from when I first joined. That’s okay. I’m not the same person I was 1000 days ago!
When I joined, I had already lost a substantial amount of weight but still had quite a ways to go. I joined because my mom’s dietitian told me to. I was supposed to keep tabs on her and to encourage her to eat right and exercise. THAT was a fail. She logs inconsistently and doesn’t eat well to this day.
That is neither here or there…
1000 days ago, I was involved in doing water aerobics three days a week and was just starting a lifting program. The lifting was a mess. Inconsistent. Just and here and there hit and miss type of thing. Then the gasoline prices started to climb and I had to switch gyms to help with the gasoline costs.
I was still doing water aerobics and also got serious with my lifting. The pounds began to melt away. I was still a chub, but I was trimming up! I liked this!
Enter C25K.
My sister got me started on running by having me join the C25K program with her. I fell in love with running. I was seriously hooked! Never looked back. The more I ran, the less time I had for my lifting. It came to where I had a choice to make. Running or Lifting. I simply couldn’t do both.
I chose running.
I have been running a little over three years now. Absolutely love it! Not just because running has helped me drop the rest of my weight but because of all the terrific friends I have made, literally across the globe, in the running community. You will not find a better group of people that of those in running circles.
So, here are my two pics. My heavier pic of me is not at my peak weight. I refused to have my pic taken by that time. It’ll give you a little bit of an idea of what I looked like before I started with MFP. (That is me on the far right. That is also MFH, #1 Daughter and #1 Son).
