“Home again, home again, jiggity jog.”
Reggie’s House (where we board the animals) opens at 8:00 am. Bright and early.
They do not charge you for another day as long as you pick up your animals by noon. They’re good people. We wanted to get there as close to opening as we could seeing as MFH (My Favorite Husband) had to work today and I wouldn’t be able to handle all three animals by myself.
Off we drove to Reggie’s House at 8:15 am. Reggie is only 4 miles from our house so it is convenient. We were the only people there picking up this morning. That was a good thing because Paxton (my pudgy puppy) is a whirlwind when he gets to come home.
I walked in the door and Kali (one of our two cats) heard my voice. She was in a back room.
“Meow! Meow! MEOW!!!” She said. “Take me home!”
MFH and I went into the back room with the kitty carriers. There Kali and Castro were. They were scratching at the doors of their “Kennels(?).” They were very ready to go home.
Kali was rubbing against her door. She was purring. She was happy to see us.
Castro (our other kitty), was quite put out with us. Why had we abandoned him? He had been stuck in a cage for the past four days!!! Didn’t we know he expected to be let in and out of the house whenever he wanted!?! This was treason as far as he was concerned.
MFH put Castro into his kitty carrier first. Castro was an unhappy kitty.
Kali went into her kitty carrier second. She was purring up a storm. She was going home and life was good.
MFH took the cats out to the truck. While he was doing that, I was collecting Kali’s things (she’s on meds).
Now, it was time for Paxton.
Clear a path!
MFH stayed by the truck. I opened the door of Reggie’s House and the kennel attendant went to Paxton’s kennel. She opened his door and BAM!!!
Out shot Paxton! He did not pass “Go!” He did not collect $200.00 (that’s because I had just given it to Reggie’s House to pay for them watching the three animals while we were gone). He went straight to MFH and waited impatiently to be lifted into the back of the truck.
MFH tried to pick up a wiggling 130 pound Boxer and put him into the back of the truck.
We drove home. Slowly. Paxton was enjoying the sights as we drove the back roads coming home. He was a happy puppy. His mouth was flapping open from the wind as we drove along. What a silly dog!
As we got closer to the house, we had the dog in the back with an, “I’m a lucky dog” look on his face and two cats telling us of their distress because they were each stuck in a kitty carrier and riding in a truck.
Boy, I am glad we live close to Reggie’s House! HA!
We finally got home. MFH got Paxton out of the back of the truck. Paxton made a bee-line for the house (after stopping to water the grass). We carried the cats and Paxton’s stuffed bear into the house. Now, all three animal are “sleeping it off.”
Those three are so funny!
It is great to be home! 🙂
