That Darn Cat

MFH (My Favorite Husband) for years has been telling me tall tales about how, if the cat is in the house when we go to bed, wakes him up in the early morning hours to be let outdoors.

I never believed him.  I mean, it was just a tall tale, right?

Wrong.

Kali, our (well, actually my daughter’s) black and caramel colored kitty, didn’t want to go outdoors last night.  She wanted to sleep curled up between my legs.  She does that sometimes.  Usually during the winter months because she’s cold.  I didn’t thing anything of it, so I didn’t kick her outside for the night.

That was a mistake.

About 1:30-2:00 this morning, I hear, in my ear, prrrrr.  I rolled over.  Prrrr!!!!  I ignored it.   PRRRRR!!!!!  I harrumphed and tried to go back to sleep.

Pretty soon, I felt Kali walking all up and down my back.

“WAKE UP!  I want to go outdoors!” She was telling me.

“No way.  I’m sleeping.  Go back to sleep.”  Was my stubborn reply.

Now, next to my side of the bed is a tall wardrobe.  If she takes a running start, she can get to the top of it.  So, she did!  She got on MFH’s side of the bed and run, run run, and jumped!  Using me as a springboard.

“Oomph!” I said.

But I still refused to get up.

Kali soon got tired of being on top of the wardrobe and decided to jump down.  On top of me.

“Oomph” again.  She landed on top of me.  Was that deliberate?  Probably.

“Prrrr, Prrrr, PRRRRR!!!”  She tried again.

“NO WAY!  Go away!”  I said.

We kept up this battle until 6:30 this morning.

Who won?

I’m not sure.

That darn cat.
