20 Miles~Easy Effort

What a beautiful morning we are having in Mississippi today!  The weather for my morning run was 83F and only 45% humidity!!!  The sun is shining and we have a light breeze.  Ideal running weather!  I had a great time out there.

Completed my 20 miler.  Glad to be done with long runs for another week, though.

A year ago, when I was training for my first Marathon, I remember watching my training schedule for that dreaded 20 miler.  That last “Big Run” before race day.  I was terrified of that run.

On advice of some of my friends at the running group, I had modified my training schedule to include that 20 miler and then two weeks before the race, a 23 miler.  Holy cow…those runs scared me to death!

What a difference a year makes!

I looked at my training schedule yesterday and saw that 20 miler on tap for today.  I wasn’t overjoyed to see it but just kinda shrugged it off and figured “Oh well…”  Last year, I had no fingernails left by this time in the training from nerves!

MFH (My Favorite Husband) made me pancakes this morning to fuel me through this mornings long run.  I ate one and had a cup of coffee and then headed on out the door.  It was a lovely run and truly an “Easy Effort.”  Gotta love it!
