How many of you remember that old song by Katrina and Waves~~Walking on Sunshine?
Well…today, I was running in sunshine! It was wonderful! All the time, I had that song going through my mind. What a great run!!!
I started out the run rather early. It was chilly so I had on a long sleeved tech shirt, shorts, etc. About a third of the way through the run, I began to get too hot. I started to overheat! Hmmm…this would never do. But what to do?
Strip!
Yup. Off came the shirt. I completed the last 6 miles of my run sans shirt. I took a sip of my Gatorade and felt better. My pace picked back up and all was well again.
The weather was perfect! The sunshine was perfect! When I got home, it was almost 70F. Whew! No wonder I got too warm.
I am always self conscious of running sans shirt. Even though I have lost a lot of weight, my tummy definitely does not look model perfect. As my FIL is fond of saying, “It beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!” So, I run, jiggle free at least, and hope and pray no cars pass me on my run. 🙂
Training begins for the Big Butts 50K next Monday so stay tuned for training updates. 18 weeks of preparation for the big race. Let us hope that this training program does not result in a stress fracture like the last one did. I have my fingers crossed!
