NSV (Non-Scale Victory)

Today’s Run:  6.00 miles

I had a NSV this morning.

First off, it is cold again in Mississippi.  Over the weekend, it was H.O.T.  When my husband and I ran with the running group Saturday morning and again on Sunday morning, it was in the 70’s with high humidity.  Unreal for the first two days of Winter.

This morning I got up ready to sweat on my morning run, only to discover that it was cold again!  It was not really all that cold~37 F. but we had a 15 MPH North wind.  That is what made it chilly.  It is difficult to know how to dress for a run when the weather is like that.  I opted for shorts, a long sleeved tech shirt and gloves.  A happy medium, I though.  Wrong.

By the time I got home, I was froze!  Close to half of that run was straight into the North wind.  You think I would plan these runs better and have chosen an East/West route instead of North/South.  I guess I am just an old dog and cannot be taught new tricks?

Anyway, I was cold.  I took a super, duper hot shower and that even did not get me warmed up.  What to do?  What to wear the rest of the day?

Usually, I wear a tank top with a cardigan over it.  It is Mississippi after all and I do not need thick, fluffy sweaters.  Today, however, I needed more than my little short sleeved cardigans.  I hesitated…

In the back of my closet resides my ONE long sleeved, black cardigan.  I never wear it.  It is too small.  It will not meet in the middle so it just flops open and drives me nuts.  But it is warm!  I took it out of the closet and pulled it on.

Well, how do you like that!?!  It met in the middle.  Easily!  I could button it up (if I wanted…buttoned up cardigans are nerdy).

I am warm now in my kinda new, black, long sleeved cardigan.  NSV for me!!!
