Today’s Run: Rest Day
Today is a rest day. I have a love/hate relationship with rest days. I love them because I am physically exhausted and need the rest and hate them because I feel lazy and unproductive. Seeing as today is a rest day, I decided to go over some of my “Data.”
Data? Yup, data.
You see, two years ago for Christmas I received a Garmin FR 305 as a gift. It was one of the best Christmas presents ever. I was new into running and was only tracking how long I ran. The Garmin opened my eyes into what things I could find out about my run. I, of course, could find out how long I ran, but I could also discover my speed, the distance, my heart rate…all sorts of goodies! Too exciting! I was hooked.
Then, at the end of last year I discovered people who keep track of how many miles they run throughout the course of the year. Wow! The thought had never occurred to me! What a great idea!!!
January 1, 2013, I recorded my first run of the New Year and I have been faithfully recording each run this entire year.
During this year, I also upgraded my Garmin from the FR 305 to the 310XT. They are pretty much the same thing except BETTER! Now, I get the weather conditions for the run, too! Gotta love it!
So, for those of you who are curious, my miles run goal for this year was to be able to run 1,000 miles over the course of the 12 months of 2013. My miles as of this morning…drum roll please…..1,141.31 miles! Pretty Cool Beans!!!
