Cause I’m Leaving, On A Jet Plane…

Today’s Run:  4.22 miles

The only thing left to do is finish up this weeks training, board the dog and hop a plane!

We are on our last full week of tapering before our Marathon.  For those of you who are new to my blog, my husband and I are running the Mount Desert Island Marathon in Bar Harbor, Maine on October 20, 2013.  We are really looking forward to this.

We ran our last “long” run this past Saturday.  It was supposed to be 12 miles but it was a little bit longer than that.  Not by much, mind you but it was a little bit longer.

It was rather warm Saturday morning.  When we completed our run it was 74 F. and 76% humidity.  It was beginning to be a little uncomfortable BUT it was an awesome run!!!  Why???

Because, they put down asphalt on the new highway last week!  Brand new asphalt.  Our feet went, “Springy, springy, springy…” down the road.  We had “Happy Feet!”.  Totally and Completely Excellent!

Seeing as we are on our last full week of marathon training, I feel obligated to tell you that we are only 12 days out from race day.  Wow!!!  I have been counting down the days for 4 months and all of a sudden, Boom!  Here it is!!!

“Trust my Training.”  Trust my training.”   Trust my training.”  This is my mantra for the next week and probably through the race itself~that and “Kill the Hills”.  This is supposed to be a hilly course.

Everything in my mind is a jumble of emotions.

Can a person feel so many different things at the same time?  I expect I will probably cry when I cross the finish line.  But that is okay, right?

Fingers Crossed.  Wish us luck.  Rub your lucky rabbit’s foot for us.  Thanks!
