A Warm, Fuzzy Story

Today’s Run:  8.00 miles

My son met a person today at the Piggly Wiggly.  They did the “dance” at the checkout.  You know the “dance” where you both get to the checkout at the same time and say, “You go”,  “No, no, You go” and back and forth until someone goes first?

Well, this lady that my son met was a Grandma and had one of her granddaughters with her.  The little girl said to my son, “You talk funny”.  My son explained that he had moved here from a different state and that he had an accent.

The grandmother asked where he was from and the conversation began…and eventually came around to me and my writing my stories for the regional magazine for the children.

“Oh!  What stories?”

“Ed Stakrispie, The Detective Hen.”

“Oh!  My grandson loves Ed Stakrispie!  He walks around with a magnifying glass, says ‘cluck, cluck, cluck’ and flaps his arms like wings, just like Ed Stakrispie.”

How sweet is that!?!

So, this afternoon, after telling this story to my husband, he went and started a FB fan page (open group) for Ed Stakrispie fans!  There are photographs of Ed Stakrispie, Ginger The Hen and the other nine little hens from the stories.

What a great guy I married!  Thanks dear!!!
