This coming Saturday morning my sister and I are going to participate in a Color Run. This is supposed to be the greatest, most funnest(?) race since sliced bread! Both my sister and I are looking forward to it!
Back, oh, probably close to a year ago now, my sister talked to me and said that she really wanted to do a Color Run and would I do one with her? I said, “Sure”, I thought that it would be fun and something different from a regular road race. We kept our eyes open for one in our area.
Then came my Marathon. I signed up having totally forgotten about my promise to do the Color Run. I had no more than signed up for the marathon when my sister calls and says, “There will be a Color Run in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on September 7th!”
Wow! Was I ever lucky!!! A promise is a promise after all and fortunately these two races did NOT fall on the same day/same weekend.
So, we are ready for this coming Saturday. Tomorrow, I will drive and do the packet pickups and then Saturday morning, bright and early, we will drive an hour east to get there in time for the race. We have white shirts, sunglasses, white visors…we will be dazzling in the sunshine before the race. We will take our before picture with us looking all pristine.
THEN, we will have our AFTER picture taken. I hope we are unrecognizable with all that color!!! Wouldn’t that be too cool??? We have decided to stay in the “high dye” lanes, we really want to get a lot of color as a souvenir of the race. We want to go the the after race party and maybe purchase something as a token of our fun race together.
