Today’s Run: Rest Day
I used to dread the word “Rest Day” on my training schedule. I thought I was Invincible! I could run every day of the week. Little runs~not the huge runs…just keep on going like the Energizer Bunny. That was until the larger runs arrived.
I am 51 years old. I am not the Energizer Bunny. I am not Invincible. I need my Rest Days. They are not the dreaded day any more. When they arrive on my schedule, I no longer say “Oh Dreadful Day”, instead I say “Goodie!”
And I rest on my Rest Day! I no longer make up excuses to do some type of activity~well except for cutting the grass…that HAS to be done. But other than that, I am a slug. I get my housework done first thing in the morning and then recline. I am tired.
So, today is a rest day. I am going to go to church this morning. I have to go to the grocery store then I am going to come home and bake bread. A nice, restful day.
