“It’s Raining…”

Today’s Run:  Rest Day

It is raining today. 80% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.  Some of them are supposed to be severe with 50-60 mph winds, hail…not the weather in which to go fishing.  In a aluminum boat. In the middle of a lake.  Nope.  Bad idea.

That is exactly what my husband and son are doing…Men.

It is not like I have anything against fishing mind you.  I enjoy fishing.  I am not very good at it, but it is relaxing.  A quiet, reflective time.  Nice.

When I was very little my Granddaddy would take me fishing.  He would not tolerate any noise, talking, nothing.  It was his theory that it would scare the fish away.  (He also did not allow singing at the dinner table~that was thanking the devil for your food.  I loved him very much.)

Back to the guys today, though.  It started raining around 1:30 this afternoon.  They decided to go anyway.  Now I am going to fret and stew until they get home…safe and sound.

Maybe they will catch something!  My son went last weekend while we were in Colorado.  He took my BIL and nephew with him.  They had a great time and caught a Large Mouth Bass.  Good for them!

(I cook Bass in a pocket made from foil.  Pour in 1/4 C white wine and add a bit of Tarragon.  Steam it for just a little while in the oven…Mmmm!!!   And easy!)

Today is a rest day for me.  Yesterday I logged a  little over 40,000 steps on my Fitbit.  That equaled out to over 18.50 miles.  I was very tired last night and determined that today would be a rest day~so I have been a lazy daisy today.   Tomorrow I will hit the ground running~literally.
