Today’s Run: 6.11 miles
We ran “The Silo” route today. This was a real treat due to the fact that the roads were dry enough (finally) to allow us to run this route.
This has been a very wet Spring in Mississippi. We are well prepared for all this rain now. We have a boat. We have life jackets. We are prepared! But all the rain has limited where we can go on our runs.
Living in the country like we do, has it’s perks. It has one major drawback and that is that there are a lot of gravel roads. Not very well maintained gravel roads. When it rains, the road bed turns into a mushy mess and that makes it a difficult surface on which to run. We have had to limit our runs to a small portion of the surrounding roads that are asphalt. Not a lot of variety.
Anyway, we have gone three days without rain and we took advantage of that and ran “The Silo Route”! How much fun!!! It is six miles round trip. Part asphalt. Part gravel. Lots of hills. Good fun! It was refreshing to get to do something a little different. We just run a little over three miles~until we reach the silo and then turn around a go home. Simple!
