Today’s Run: Rest Day
It is a beautiful Spring day here in Mississippi! It is Mother’s Day and for Mother’s Day, I have the house all to myself. My husband took the day off to go fishing, so I am baking bread and cleaning the floors. Does not sounds like a great Mother’s Day but trust me, it is just what the “doctor ordered”.
Seeing as the weather outside is positively perfect, I decided to wander on down to my Apiary and check on my bees. I have not been able to walk down there for a couple of days…too busy. So, I grabbed my phone and toddled on down to the end of our property where I house my five bee hives.
The birds were singing and my chickens were clucking their greetings (secretly hoping that I had brought them a treat to eat). I walked through the clover making a mental note to myself: Self, mow tomorrow. I reached the Apiary.
This Spring my bees have been particularly aggressive so I approached with trepidation. They seemed to be in good spirits so I just wandered around each hive. Yup. They had pollen with them. This was good! They were busy (busy bees, don’t you know!?!) coming and going. Not stopping to notice me. I took a few pics and left feeling content. The first honey flow should start within a few weeks. We will be ready.
