Today’s Run: 5.13 miles~Schaeffer’s Chapel
It was a bright sunny morning today. No breeze…just sunshine and lots of it! The only thing missing was heat. It was only 25 F. here in Mississippi. That is quite cold for down here. Parts of the state broke records for a hard freeze. And we went out and ran in the cold. It was marvelous!
We also reached a decision. We are going to run a full marathon this fall. If all works out~no injuries or illnesses… We were looking into one not too far from home on the Gulf Coast. That was looking pretty good. Then my husband received an email.
My husband has a friend from an online running group called DeadRunnersSociety. He and this friend have run one other marathon together. His friend has been busy over the past couple of years running one marathon in each state. He has just a few states left to complete and he has asked my husband and myself to run one of his last races with him. He has already run a race in Mississippi. Rats. So…
We are looking at New England. Maine to be specific. We are looking at two different marathons in Maine. The Maine Marathon in Portland. And the Mount Dessert Island Marathon in Bar Harbor. I would love to go to Bar Harbor, actually drive to Bar Harbor and park the car just so I can say, “I pauked the cau in Bau Haubau”. I cannot spell it phonetically but you get the idea.
