Today’s Run:  5.36 miles

Do you remember the movie Casablanca?  There is a line in the beginning of the movie where Peter Lorre says, “Rick, hide me!” and Rick (Humphrey Bogart) does absolutely nothing to help.

That was the scene (minus the shooting) at our house today when a storm rolled through.  Paxton, the dog (my hero) heard the wind pick up and the thunder roll and knew it was time to hide~and to hide FAST!  But where???

Paxton has two favorite hiding places.  The first is under my husband’s desk.  The second is in the hall bathroom. Why those two places?

Paxton prefers to be under the desk. It is rather close quarters for him (he is a pudgy puppy, after all) but I think the tightness of the space there is a comfort to him.  The bathroom is almost always second choice but is used more often due to the fact that the desk is almost always in use with a chair blocking access to the underneath.  Poor Paxton.

So, this afternoon, Paxton spent the majority of the afternoon hiding in the hall bathroom.  Cannot you just hear Peter Lorre running around yelling, “Hide me, Paxton!”.  Maybe not.
