The Chickens are Here! The Chickens are Here!

Today’s Run:  Hamfest:  Lots of walking around

We went to the hamfest today.  I had told you about that yesterday.  It was a successful day.  Met a great deal of very interesting people and made quite a few sales.  All in all a day well spent.

We left the hamfest a few hours early because we were due to pick up the chickens at 2:00 p.m. in Terry, Mississippi.  Terry is 14 miles South of Jackson, Mississippi.  Just a hop, skip and a jump from the hamfest.  No problem…

And it was no problem!  We did get stuck in a traffic jam and had to stop for gas but we still made it there with five minutes to spare.  The gentleman I purchased the chickens from (and the chicken tractor) had given me great directions and we drove directly to his house.  Like I said, “No problem”.

We had borrowed my son’s old bunny cage to put the chickens into for travel~perfect size!

The chicken tractor took a bit of finagling to fit into the back of the pick up but fit it did, like a glove~getting it back out was not as difficult as I though it would be either.

So, the chickens are tucked away for the evening in their new chicken tractor.  The cats and the chickens have met by the way and the cats are afraid of the chickens.  We will see how long that lasts, Mmmm?chickens 001
