[Today’s run: 3.2 miles]
Yesterday we were down in Clarkco State Park in Clarke County, Mississippi for the Ivy Trek Ultramarathon. It is a loop course. One lap was just under 8 miles, they called it 12.5k. Two laps was 25k and 4 laps was 50k.
I was “crew” for our son doing the 50k and wife doing the 12.5k. Things went pretty well.
I messed up my job at one point. I lost track of time and I wasn’t were I was supposed to be when son came in at the end of lap 3. I did see him and ran and caught him. He had wisely gotten all the stuff he needed from our little setup and went on his way.
My mess-up didn’t seem to bother him and he finished in good shape.
When people are really tired they sometimes will experience a glitch like that and find it very frustrating, even debilitating. I’m glad he was able to work around it.
