[Today’s run: 3.4 miles]
I’m back in Mississippi now.
I drove from north-central Colorado down to central Colorado on Saturday. On Sunday I drove down into NE New Mexico, across the panhandle of Texas and through most of Oklahoma. I camped in the back of the pickup truck in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Henryetta, Oklahoma. The weather was cool but my night was interrupted multiple times by people in big pickup trucks doing burnouts.
I got up just before 4 A.M. and got back on the road.
I took a bit of a new route. At Little Rock I headed SE to Pine Bluff then on to Greenville, MS on US-65. It was 4 lane almost all the way. I then took US-82 east to Columbus.
I had a nice trip but it made for a lot of driving. I had no motel expenses. I probably put 2500 miles on the truck at approximately 25 mpg and a fuel cost of roughly 3.40, for a total of $340, more or less.
I have unlimited data on my cell phone so I listened to “Truth for Life” and “Grace To You” podcasts as well as regular radio stations and chapters of a Max Brand book, “The Untamed”, downloaded from Librivox.
