[Today’s run: rest day]
Well, it’s been a few days since I posted anything! Sorry about that.
We had a nice Christmas. We actually had gift opening on Christmas Eve and then had a nice family dinner on Christmas Day. So it was a stretched-out holiday and I enjoyed that.
The church had a Christmas Eve service and it added to the holiday too.
I only had three work days this week. Next week will be similar. I could get used to having days off!
I’m not sure I have much to report. I have not been running as much, but I am trying to get some walking in. Our wellness program at work gives me $50 if I meet the requirements for the quarter. I was having no problem earlier this year with our volume of running for the October marathon. But after injuring myself in November it put a real dent in my numbers for this last quarter. I am still within achieveable range, but I have to do some hour-long walks every day for the rest of the month. I just got in from walking the dog this evening.
My neighbor has invited me to go deer hunting with him. I think the plan is to go tomorrow and shoot something to put in the freezer. I need to talk to him yet tonight and see if we are a ‘go’ on that. I sharpened up a knife and I know where my orange jacket is.
My other neighbor has been trying to put together a time when I can go on a run with him to haul a load in his truck. That would get my CDL going a bit. But so far his work and my work have been on the same days and we haven’t got it done. My learner’s permit runs out in a few months, so I need to get it in gear if it is ever going to happen.
Weather has been interesting. Cool, and clear recently. I like it. This is about as nice as Mississippi ever gets.
