Christmas Wish List

Today’s Run:  Rest Day:

When people ask me what I want for Christmas, I tell them that my favorite color is diamonds.  So far, that has not been an effective answer.  No diamonds.  I am always interested in hearing what people would like for gifts.  The answers at times are surprising!

This past year, my daughter moved into a new house.  This home has 14′ ceilings which means, huge walls.  What in the world do you put on a 14′ wall?  Well, she had an answer to that question~and it turned out to be an excellent answer.

My daughter asked for a 13′ x 9′ National Geographic world map.  You know, the kind that looks like a flattened out globe.  Colorful blue oceans, the countries outlined by contrasting colors and the polar ice caps showing white.  Very pretty and very big!  That is what she wanted for Christmas. And we found it~on Amazon!

So, today was the “Let’s put the map up on the wall!” day.  It took four people and a 10′ ladder to put that thing up.  We made our own plumb bob with thread and a tootsie pop (for the weight at the end of the thread).  We had very small tacks to keep the map in place.  And we had two perfectionist guys working the ladder, hammer and nails.  It looks great!  It is centered perfect on the wall!  It is the exact right height about the sofa.  It is the exact right size for that huge wall.  Success!!!
