Today’s Run: Rest Day and my husband’s birthday! Happy Birthday Sweetie!!!
We live in the South (Mississippi). We are approximately a 2 1/2 hours drive, heading North, from the Gulf of Mexico. When hurricanes arrive in the Gulf, they are usually spent by the time they reach us. By that I mean, the gale force wind are just 40 mph or so mile and the rain we receive is only 2-4 inches. Not the HUGE storms they have down on the coast.
When Hurricane Katrina blew through, a lot of people pulled up stakes and relocated themselves North, meaning to places like mid-central Mississippi. I guess that is considered North if you lived on the coast but to the majority of Americans, it is still “The South”.
One of our more notable “transplants” from hurricane Katina has landed herself a spot as a columnist in our local Sunday newspaper. She is a joy (note use of sarcasm button). This lovely lady has the gift of grumpyness.
My favorite thing to do on Sunday mornings is to grab the paper and read the topic sentence (and on a few rare occasions) or the entire first paragraph of her weekly column, just to find what she has decided to complain about that week! It’s really quite funny!!! So, imagine my surprise/delight today when I found out I did not need to read ANY of her column this week! The title of her article today was: (are you ready for this?), “Thanks, Anyway.”
Enough said!
