Today’s Run: 60 min lifting at the “Y”
We have noticed that our car has not been driving as “happy” as it did when we first bought it back in March.
We purchased a 2012 dk blue Honda Accord on March 2 of this year. We traded in our “frog”~a green Honda Element. Everyone in town knew this car and to whom it belonged. When I went to church or to the “Y” I would often hear, “We saw your car at…..”. One person even said that he had seen us at a local food establishment and wanted to know if the food was any good. The car was a high profile vehicle in town. So, we traded up. The Element was a 2007 and we had purchased it brand new. Drove it off the lot, as they say. It was beginning to get a little tired, so it was time for a change. Enter the Accord.
The Accord is a nice car. But it is just a plain ol’ car. Nothing fancy about it aside from the regular bells and whistles. Suits us just fine. But we noticed that it had lost it’s “joy” in being on the road. You know how some cars are just “happy” to be running? Well, our car seemed to be tired. That is when we noticed it. A gash in the drivers side front tire. Uh-oh. No wonder the car was tired!
So, this morning, while I was at the “Y”, my husband took the car to the Honda dealership for an oil change and to see what could be done about the tire. The oil change was great (we had a coupon) but we had to get two new tires for the front of the car. Bummer.
So, our little oil change ended up costing a little over $300.00. Ouch! Oh, the joys of car ownership.
