Today’s Run:  7.16 miles

The state of Mississippi eats, sleeps and breathes football.  High School Football.  College Football.  Pro Football.  And the Mississippi State University Bulldogs are undefeated this year in Football.  They are 7-0 and ranked number 11.  Tonight they meet the Alabama Crimson Tide.  The number one Crimson Tide.  They meet in Tuscaloosa.  Very much to MSU’s disadvantage.  Boo.

This past week MSU has started a campaign called the We Believe campaign.  Everywhere you go you see We Believe 8-0 posters and banners.  My son’s apartment complex has sheets hanging from the second story windows stating proudly, “WE BELIEVE”!!!  Even the big downtown bank has a huge banner!   Positive thinking!!!  We can/will be undefeated after this evenings game!  We can/will roll over the Crimson Tide!

My husband and I had to make a quick trip into Starkville this afternoon and actually passed the MSU team convoy on their way to Tuscaloosa.  Five air coaches (read: buses) and three state trooper vehicles with lights flashing!  Impressive sight.  That was not counting the groupie vehicles following along.  That was just the “official” convoy.  It was interesting to see.

So, tonight, we may actually listen to the game on the radio and cheer on the MSU Bulldogs.  HAIL STATE!!!
