Today’s Run: 5 miles
We are beginning to put the finishing touches on our arbor project. The patio is poured and looks terrific. The retaining wall is doing it’s job and looks terrific. The arbor/pergola itself is all done and looks terrific. Now, all that is left is the detail work.
Yesterday and today I began planting some monkey grass around the edge of the concrete and the retaining wall. A friend of mine had a bunch of it that she was going to dispose of and I talked her into saving it for me just for this project. Being the good friend that she is, she even dug it up for me! Cool Beans!!! So, it is now planted around the perimeter of the patio. All done.
Tomorrow, the landscaping guy who built the nice retaining wall is coming back out. He is bringing with him some Chocolate Vine. This is the vine that I chose to grow over the top of the arbor/pergola to add more shade and make being under the arbor more comfortable during the Summer months.
It should look pretty and add some additional color during the Summer.
The last thing we are wanting to do it get some patio furniture! Now there’s a novel idea! Right now we have one chair. One. And we are two people. Two. That is not going to work. So, hopefully with the off season sales or maybe through the newspaper or private party, we can find something else on which to sit. And that should be that. A successful completion to a very long but fun project.
