Let’s See If This Worked!

Time to see if last weeks work at the eye doc worked.

*See*

See what I did there?

I head back to the eye doc tomorrow.  He is going to take the clear contact off my right eye.  The Amniotic Membrane should have dissolved by then and he’ll do his eye doctor stuff to determine if he’s happy with the results.

The BIG test will come on July 14.

During regular training runs, I don’t have any trouble with my eyes.  They only act up on trails and during races.  July 14, I will be heading to Louisiana to run a 10 hour nighttime ultra.  It is called, “Hotter Than Hell, Dusk to Dawn.”  The name kind of gives you a warm fuzzy feeling inside, doesn’t it?  Maybe that feeling is simply a sheer terror of melting?

Here’s the link to the race:  https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=49293

The idea is to spend those 10 hours on the trails and give the ol’ eyes a thorough testing to see how they do.  Fingers crossed for some fun and melty miles on the trails!  I’ve never raced in Louisiana before so I’m pretty excited about this race.

I’ve never put this much effort into the “eye thing” for a race before but it’s time to get the rest of this little problem ironed out.  I’m training hard for the Barkley Fall Classic and so help me, I’m going to be a sad panda if my eyes give me grief at BFC!

So, fingers crossed for tomorrow.  Fingers crossed for July!  And fingers super seriously crossed for September!!!

On a completely different note, my favorite #DirtyGirlGaiters bit the dust so I headed over to their site and ordered a new pair.  The ones I’m retiring are the black and white skull pattern. They’re fun and make you feel badass when on the trails.  This time I decided to go for sass!

Aren’t these fun!?!  The lips have a glitter to them, too!  Smooches to you~mwah!

My current race lineup:

Hotter than Hell~10 hour ultra

Barkley Fall Classic “50k”

Brazos Bend 50M

Bear Bait 100K

Fondren Urban Ultra~12 hour ultra

That’s enough to keep me busy for a little bit!

Happy running, everyone!
