BFC Training and The Things You Find On Google

This blog was going to be about how my training for the September Barkley Fall Classic would be intensifying in a week.

Because I’ve never been to Frozen Head State Park, I went to my BFF, Google Images for a few pics of Frozen Head and pics from the Barkley Fall Classic (BFC) to include in this post.  They say a picture is worth a thousand words and seeing as I’m a visual learner, I firmly believe this to be true.

I’ve started being more consistent with my tire pulls because a week from tomorrow, my vert training starts getting serious.  I figured a few extra weeks of tire pulls wouldn’t hurt.

Because I know that I’ll be needing a strong core and a lot more upper body strength that what I presently have, I’ve added more planks and tire flips.  I have to admit that I like doing those tire flips!  They’re fun!!!  I’m not all that amazing at them but I do enjoy them.

In May, I’ll be adding Bear Crawls as well.  That will be a new exercise for me.  Stay tuned to see how those go.

The vert climb at Barkley is no joke!

Is it crazy that I’m looking forward to all the dings I’ll collect on the course?  I say things like that to MFH (My Favorite Husband) and he just shakes his head in bewilderment.

Now, here’s the funny part about my friend Google.  I Googled images for this particular race and on the first page of pics, I found this:

After that, I found this!

This led me to believe that maybe I’m talking about this race a little too much?  LOL!!!

What I discovered was an interview from mid~March I’d done with Henry Howard *no relation* had included the pic of Tess and myself.  How about that!?!

Here’s the link to the interview with Henry.  He did a very nice job!  https://www.runspirited.com/single-post/2018/03/14/Running-with-joy-running-for-Aiden

So, even though I was going to write about my training, etc. I’m really just chattering away about not much of anything.

Next weekend is the Coke 10k in Corinth, Mississippi.  I’m really looking forward to that race.  BEST 10k in Mississippi!!!  Lots of my Mississippi running friends will be there.  It will be terrific to see everybody again!
