Today”s Run:  Rest Day

There is a quaint Amish community in Kalona, Iowa.  It is a blast from the past.  You enter the Stringtown Grocer to find it a little dimly lit.  They had not lit the gas lights yet that morning. We pick up bags of brown and Jasmine rice, some roasted soy beans and a jug of maple syrup.  Then it is next door to the dairy and the primary purpose of our visit to this quiet town.

On our trip around the corner we see a horse and buggy going along the road.

The Kalona Dairy.  Wow.  They make the BEST cheese curds there.
