Today’s run: Rest day (I was a little under the weather)
Alright, I know that you are getting tired of hearing about Schaeffer’s Chapel so I promise to give it a rest after this entry. BUT~I had a brainstorm this afternoon!
See, we have a columnist in our local paper who lives close by and who also just happens to attend Schaeffer’s Chapel. So, today, I took it upon myself to see if she knew if maybe, just maybe, they may be making plans to re-open the original road after the present road construction was complete. I really did not expect to hear from her. I am sure she is busy being a columnist and all but lo, and behold, not two hours passed and I had a reply email! Shock and disbelief! So without further ado: I regret to tell you that it is my understanding that the road will not be reopened due to the bridge. It was more costly to rebuild that bridge than to just move “Shaeffer’s Chapel” road south.
If you are that close I would love to invite you and your husband to church sometime. Tonight is fellowship supper at 6:30. If you are a spur of the moment person, come on over. If not church is at 9am on Sunday.
If you do come, please find me and introduce yourselves.

That bridge she is talking about is that excellent plank bridge that is on the National Register of Historic Places. Bummer. That bridge is an experience to run over. Nothing like it on the world for creepiness. I will miss it.
But, like I said yesterday, we have found a way to run to the Chapel until they open the next part of the new highway and we will enjoy every bit of it!
