Today’s Run: 50 min lifting at the “Y”
I love Wisteria. I love the color, the smell, the way it canopies and it’s thick trunks. I love Wisteria. And it is a good thing because it grows like a weed here in Mississippi. Many people are not fond of it due to allergies but I am fortunate to be allergy free so I am able to enjoy it’s beauty.
It is our plan to build an arbor across the South side of our house this Summer. We get intense heat from the sun that comes through the windows on that side of the house and it heats the house something awful. So, we decided that an arbor would be just the ticket to interfere with the sun’s rays during the hot time of the day.
You cannot have just a plain ‘ol arbor, though. You have to plant something to complement the arbor. Something to grow and add additional shade and color. Something like Wisteria! What a great idea! I am well aware that this stuff grows like Kudzu and that it is aggressive. I know that I will have to climb the arbor with hedge clippers a couple of times each year to keep it in check. And yes, I know that we probably will not have company when it is in bloom because of allergies. Yes, I know all that but I love Wisteria! Here is an arbor with well established Wisteria. It is so pretty…
