Today’s adventure in running:
Decided to run 10 on the new highway. This would be my last opportunity to run this stretch of road before they opened it.
About halfway through the run, two road crew trucks pulled up along side me. “Ma’am, we’re fixin’ to open this stretch of road in about 35 minutes.” Yikes! I can’t run that fast!!!
I turned my sorry self around and started trucking back. Now, this pic isn’t very good but what it is, is the start of the new stretch of road, the place where I turn off, completely blocked by road crew trucks, pilot cars with blinky lights on top AND media…all waiting for me to move my fanny off the highway so they could open it.
They were very kinda and graciously let me finish my 10 miles while they waited, and waited, and waited…hahaha!!!
I do believe that this will be a once in a lifetime running story.
