Here, Piggie, Piggie, Piggie!!!

Y’all know that I rarely have a training run go by without SOMETHING happening.  I’m just one of those people who seems to stumble upon the unusual.  This morning was no different.

I met my running buddy, Bonnie, at the RiverWalk.  The RiverWalk is located right at the beginning of Downtown of my town, Columbus, Mississippi.  I’m sure you remember Bonnie.  She’s my running buddy who has the Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA).  She has no cartridge in her feet/ankles and yet still runs!  Amazing lady!  She keeps me motivated, that’s for sure!

Anyway…

We were running in a residential area about a block south of Main Street in downtown Columbus.  Our town has a lot of Antebellum houses from the Civil War.  The town is kinda famous for these houses and people come from all over the place to take tours of these homes.  If you’ve never been through an Antebellum home, it is an educational experience.  Entrances for family/visitors.  Back/unlit/separate entrances for the slaves.  Separate shacks in the back where the slaves lived.  It’s really something else!

Anyway…

We were running in this area of downtown when all of a sudden we heard, “Oink!  Oink!  Oink!” and we looked all around.

Sure enough!  There was the cutest little pig running around the front lawns of these beautiful old homes.  AND it was loose!

This little pig was having a great time!  He was rooting around and kicking up his heels.  #HappyPig

Well, you know me.  Can’t let a photo op like that go by.  I’m always on the lookout for interesting things to share with my little IRun4 buddy, Aiden.  I hollered at Bonnie to stop while I took a pic of the pig.

I crept up on the pig, he was white with black polka-dots. I was calling, “Here, pig!”  “Come here you cute little piggie!”  You get the idea.  I was generally making a complete idiot of myself!  Hahaha!  I was rewarded though!

That little pig walked up to me!  Bold a brass!  He wasn’t shy one little bit.

I even got to pet him!

I snapped three pics and we resumed our run.  The problems didn’t start until I got home.

Paxton was there to greet me when I came into the house.  He was sooooo happy I was home!  He run up to me all wiggly, ready for some puppy hugs and a thorough petting  UNTIL…

“WHAT in the world have you been petting!?!”

You could see the question marks on his face!

He was indignant!

He was NOT impressed when I told him is was just a pig.  Nope. Paxton wanted no part of my greeting until I had washed my hands.  He would have preferred that I had changed out of my running gear as well.
