Splish! Splash!

A very busy morning today!

I had scheduled a Dr. appointment for this morning at 9:30.  Tuesday is a light running day for me so I figured I could wake up 7:00(ish), run a few miles and then head on over to Starkville, Mississippi, (a 30 minute drive) and get there with plenty of time to spare.  Plans have a way of changing.

The Dr office called me yesterday. Yes, my appointment was for 9:30 BUT, they wanted to do a breathing test on me.  Seeing as this appointment was for a “Sports physical” for the Berlin Marathon, they wanted to do this test to make sure I was tip top.

#UGH.

They wanted me there at 9:00.  That would give them time to draw my blood, run the labs AND give me the breathing test before my 9:30 appointment.

I know it was only a 30 minute difference, but that 30 minutes meant that I had to be running at 6:00 am instead of the “leisurely” morning I had planned.  Nothing to do but to set the alarm for 5:45.

The alarm went off and I got up.  I threw on my running clothes and “posed” for a pic.  MFH took the pic and I bounded out the door.  I had to make up .55 of a mile to make up for the distance I lost yesterday due to the weather.  I also had to add another 5 onto the .55.  Haha!  All of that confusion to say I had to run 5.55 miles today.

It was pouring!!!  Holy Cow!  So much rain!  No thunder or lightening so away I went.  By the end of the driveway, I was soaked.  Skin is waterproof.  No big deal.  Away I splashed.

After about .30 of a mile, I realized that this was fun!  Although I usually have toast and coffee before I run, this morning I couldn’t.  I had been ordered to fast for my blood work.  I hadn’t had anything to eat/drink since 6:00 last night.  My energy levels were a tad low so my pace suffered but I had a blast!

I ended up running (splashing) 5.57 miles.  It took me 1.05.  Told you it was slower than it should have been but it really was a fun, fun run!!!

I crossed the 900 mile mark for the 2015 calendar year while out this morning.  Success!  Knowing I didn’t have very far to go to reach 900 miles was the reason I wanted to run today.  Call me silly but I do what I have to do to stay motivated.  HA!

The bottom left had pic is my road on a sunny day.  This morning, the ditches were full and overflowing.  There was water running across the road.  It made for an interesting run today!

Such a great start to my Tuesday!
