Castro has been a naughty kitty. I mean, he is on my “list.”
Yesterday, when Castro came in, he went straight to bed. He did not eat kitty food and he did not demand that I turn on the faucet in the hall bath so he could drink running water (spoiled cat).
Castro went straight to the guest room and went to sleep.
I thought this was odd. On a normal day, Castro comes in and heads straight for his food dish. If he can see the bottom of his food dish (What are doing!?! Are you trying to starve me!?!) he demands a refill.
After he has eaten a LOT of kitty food, he heads to the hall bath where he kicks up a fuss until I turn on the faucet so he can get a drink of fresh water. Then and only then, he will curl up on his favorite chair and sleep (and shed~because it is a black chair and he is a white kitty) until it is almost time to go out and play for the night.
No doubt about it, Castro was under the weather.
I was a little bit worried. What was wrong? I was hoping it wasn’t anything serious. I decided just to let him sleep.
Castro slept and slept and slept.
Finally, it was about 3:00 PM. Paxton was wanting his afternoon walk. As a matter of fact, Paxton brought me his leash. He REALLY wanted to go for his walk. I clipped the leash to his collar and we headed out the door.
We hadn’t gone 3 feet when I saw why Castro wasn’t feeling well.
There, on my front lawn lay two baby bunny feet and one ear. A few tufts of fur and that was about it.
Grrrr…
That naughty Castro had caught and dined on a baby bunny during the night! Bad Castro!
Immediately, I thought of the old Alka-Seltzer commercials. You remember those…”I can’t believe I ate the whole thing.” commercials.
Yup. Castro. You ate it and now you pay.
Serves him right.
