Mr. Pitts

Today’s Run:  6.10 miles

We had a picture perfect run this morning!  We did get a little bit of a late start (6:30 a.m.) so it was a little toasty for a longer run~77 degrees.  But, the sun was shining and we did not have any reason to rush home, so we decided to go a little further than usual.

Our usual distance for a run during the week is four, sometimes five miles.  And we move it right along due to the fact that we usually have an important errand or something that needs to be done ASAP.  Not today!  We ran a new route and logged a little over six.  The perfect distance.

Our new route took us, at first, along our regular route of “the ‘T’ intersection”.  This time we took another right and traveled onto some gravel and more hills.  Interesting.  I have got to tell you, this was the best maintained gravel road I have ever been on!  Better than asphalt!  Moving on…

We had a light breeze, some shade, passed some cotton fields and a guy driving down the road talking on his cell phone with one hand and holding his coffee with the other (I am not sure how he was steering).  We passed our neighbor twice, saw a  very interesting bug and met a new person.  This guy was driving a white pick up truck with red flames painted on the side.

Now, usually people just wave when they pass us but this guy stopped.  “Couldn’t you pick a dustier road to run on?”  was his opening line.  We assured him that no, it was pretty dusty but just fine, thank you.  “Well, you know, they are going to spray this with oil and lay down gravel here pretty soon.  Won’t be so dusty after that.  They are going to do this as far as Mr. Pitts place!”.  We politely acknowledged this information and moved on.  He was a nice man and the information was interesting, but who in the world is this “Mr. Pitts”?

After the run I came home and power washed the house~had a little extra help.  Here is a clip…power washing the house 001
