Pins and Needles

Tomorrow is the big day~~~The drawing for the New York City Marathon!

The New York City Marathon is the largest Marathon in the world and I would give my right arm to run this race.

There are two primary ways to get in this race:  You either have to get a qualifying time or get in through the lottery.  Of course, there are a lot of extenuating circumstances and people are able to get a bib different ways but most people get in through a qualifying time~~~so many, that there aren’t many spots available to get in through the lottery.

This is the scuttlebutt I’ve been hearing about this years drawing.  There are approximately 2500 slots available and over 100K people who have put their name in the hat for the lottery.

The odds are NOT good.

However, I will get up in the morning and stalk my credit card status, my email, etc.  I will do this all. day. long. until I get the email that very politely says, “Sorry, Charlie.”

I’ll probably have race dreams about a race I’m not even in (yet)!  Funny how that works.

Yes, I am on pins and needles about the drawing tomorrow.  I have had my fingers crossed since I put my name in the hat close to three weeks ago.

I don’t know why I do this to myself!  smh

Haha!!!

🙂

* Runners World just put out an article online regarding the actual numbers/odd of getting into the race this year.  Here is the link:    http://www.runnersworld.com/new-york-city-marathon/new-york-city-marathon-lottery-by-the-numbers
