Today’s run was in the rain. It was cold, too. 38F when I got started. Aside from me whining about how cold I was/am, it was actually a very nice run.
A little bit later, you would have found MFH (My Favorite Husband) and myself hopping in the car and heading off for church.
Normally, for church (bear in mind, I do NOT like to dress up) I will put on a nice pair of jeans and equally nice top. I do not own a dress or a skirt`~absolutely refuse to spend that kind of money for something I am only going to wear a few hours one day a week. Nope. I look presentable and nobody complains.
Today, however, I was freezing from that cold, rainy run. I needed to be warm. I elected to NOT wear the nice top I usually wear but instead threw on the warmest sweater I had. It is one of those chunky sweaters. Quite casual and I didn’t care. I was starting to thaw and wanted to continue to do so.
The church building was pretty cool. It is never super warm. I think they keep it on the cool side to keep you from nodding off during the sermon. HA! I ended up leaving my jacket on through the entire service. Self preservation.
On our way back to the car, MFH mentioned that it would be so nice it we were getting big fluffy snowflakes instead of the dreary rain.
What!?! Heresy!!!
Snow. You have to shovel it. It sticks around forever! You can’t get it to go away!
Rain. When it is done raining, unless there is a huge flood or something, it’s done. You don’t have to deal with residuals. It’s just…done!
I would most definitely rather have rain over snow. I mean, if it snows, that mean it is super, duper cold!
One of the things I like about living in the south is that it doesn’t get as cold as it did when we lived in Colorado. I remember one trip we made to Mississippi from Colorado over Christmas. We arrived back home to Colorado to 42″ of snow in the driveway. I remember having to shovel the driveway so we could pull into the driveway. I recall having to shovel off our roof the next day, too, so it wouldn’t collapse from the weight of the snow. #Fail
Rain vs Snow. I dunno…seems like a no brainer to me.
