This morning, I took my life in my hands and ran on a Treadmill (TM).
Over the course of my life, I have run on a TM a grand total of two times. Both of these attempts have ended in disaster. I have managed to go flying off the back end of those contraptions and lay in a mangled heap on the floor. It is humiliating and embarrassing.
TM’s are not my friend.
Seeing as MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I are in Atlanta, Georgia, for a few days this week, I am electing to run on the hotel’s TM.
I have been in Atlanta only one other time in my life. 22 years ago on my 30th birthday. I tried to go to a local gym during that visit, only to discover that every. single. street. in Atlanta is named Peachtree. I was so lost! Phooey on that!
This time, I am staying put in the hotel. They have a nice mini gym equipped with three very nice TM’s. That’s why I am running on a TM.
These TM’s have a TV attached to them. They also face the street. I elected to people watch while running. I could do that all day!
So, I was trucking along on my run, watching the people and traffic go by when right in front of me, a Little Debbie’s Nutty Bar truck drove by. I realized at that moment that I have not had a Nutty Bar in over a week! Sudden, intense withdrawal symptoms ensued.
After my run, I came back upstairs to our room, showered and went down to the hotel restaurant for some lunch. I had not had any breakfast and was hungry. I was hoping they would have something chocolate on the menu. I was really, really, really wanting some after seeing that Nutty Bar truck.
I struck out. No chocolate. Sad Panda.
So, here I am in the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, Georgia, trying to figure out how to get a Nutty Bar.
I should have hi-jacked that truck while I had the chance, huh? HA!
*I had a successful run, BTW. The run was uneventful and I remained vertical for the entire run. #Success
