Okay.  I admit it.  I am addicted to running.

I am a Run Junkie.  Or maybe you could call me a RunJunkEe.

It all started back a few years ago.  A guy I know through FB started a page with motivational running pics.  He gathered quite the following with people liking his page.

His page became so popular that almost two years ago he started a virtual run club.  He called it RunJunkEes.  It took off like crazy!  Lots and lots of people are now a part of his virtual run club.

A problem presented itself, though.  People travel.  Soon, people would say, “Hey, I’m going to be in such and such a town on such and such a date.  Anybody live there?  Where’s a good place to run?  Are there any races during the time I will be there?”

This was happening a lot.

He saw the need to develop local chapters.  There are now 40(?) chapters around the world.  This has been very helpful for the people traveling and it has created a lot of friendships as people who are local get to meet each other and run together.  It has been a good thing.

A little over a year ago, he approached me about started a chapter in my state, Mississippi.  Now, Mississippi gets a bum rap as far a anything fitness goes.  We are one of the fattest states in the nation.  There are not a lot of runners in our state.  The running community is small.  So, I thought about it for a while and decided that, yes, I would commit to running the state chapter.

The Mississippi Chapter of RunJunkEes is now the largest of all the Chapters!  Bells and Whistles to the running community in my state!  We may be the fattest state in the country but we have the most loyal runners in the world!
