Shopping in Iowa

So, I’m sure by now y’all have figured out that I am on vacation.  MFH (My Favorite Husband), #1 Son and I left Mississippi Friday morning at early o’clock and drove 17 hours to reach my In-Laws house in Des Moines, Iowa.  We had a lovely drive, mostly good weather and enjoyed each others company as we toddled down the road.

Yesterday, we didn’t do much of anything.  We just spent our time catching up on news and resting.  I went on a run, too.

This morning, a run, church and then shopping!!!

Church was really nice.  We went to the church we attended when we lived here 18 years ago.  There were some familiar faces and we enjoyed see people we hadn’t seen in a very long time.

We came back to the In-Laws, had some lunch and then went to Jordan Creek Mall.  It is a relatively new mall.  It is big!  It has two stories and good stores!  And bargains!!!

I don’t know if you remember me telling you about how I like to shop at The Loft?  They have a nice petite section and I found some shorts and tanks there at the beginning of the summer up in Tupelo, Mississippi.  They do not have any more in my size (Size 0).  I have been sad that I had not bought any more of them at that time because I really, really like them.

So, we are walking through the mall today and low and behold, there was The Loft!  Cool Beans!!!  AND they were having a sale!  Selected items already marked down were marked down an additional 50%.  I went in.

There were my shorts!  In the color I liked.  IN MY SIZE!  AND they were the ones marked down an additional 50%!  I couldn’t believe my good fortune!  PLUS, the tanks I bought earlier this summer ($16.00 a shirt) were marked down to $5.00 plus an additional 50% off.  I walked out of there with three pair of shorts and two new tanks.  I spent $50.00.  I was pretty please with myself!

I am frugal?  Doesn’t matter.  I have a Loft charge card and I was happy to have the opportunity to use it!  HA!

MFH had not come into the store with me.  He had the opportunity but passed.  He was pleased that I had bought them, though.  He’s a good guy about things like that.  I’m a lucky girl and I think I’ll keep him.    🙂
