Woo-Hoo!!!

I am on cloud nine right now!!!

All day long, I have been checking the race site to see the results from Saturday’s 50K.

It was soooooo hot that day.  I knew that a lot of people were DNF’s.  I wanted to see how everybody did.  Curiosity and all that.

So, a little while ago, the results were posted.

First off, yesterday’s blog was incorrect.  Three people did finish the 100K.  They completed the race with 10 minutes to spare.  Good for them!!!

Of all of the 84 starters at the race, only 48 finished. That means that 36 people were a DNF.  That is a 42% DNF.  That is a lot.

The other thing that I found out was:

I got 2nd place in my age division!!!

Woo-Hoo!!!

I am soooooo excited!!!

I have never, ever placed in a race before!

This was my very first Ultra and it was so hot and the course was very challenging…..

So, there you have it.

Now, off to train for Chicago.

I printed off my training schedule for the Chicago Marathon this morning.  The long run for this weekend is supposed to be 18 miles.  I think I’m going to procrastinate on that for another week…still pretty pooped from last weekend.

Another couple of days and I’ll be back on the road.  There we go…..
