Duck Season!, Wabbit Season!, Alligator Season?

Today’s Run 2.27 miles

For all you Bugs Bunny fans out there, I am afraid that this may be a disappointment to you.  You see, it is not duck season or “wabbit” season,  it is, however, alligator season!  Yes, folks, tomorrow is the deadline to apply for your 2012 alligator hunting license.

Alligator hunting is a pretty big deal here in Mississippi.  You row your boat (say row boat five times fast!) in the bayou and arm yourself with a rifle. Bait the hook, BIG hook, with meat and set the next trap.  After you have set your traps, you go back and visit your old traps in the order you set them.  It there is an alligator in the vicinity, you shoot him.  Plain and simple.  You will not catch me out there doing the hunting.  I mean, what do you do with alligator except make a purse or a pair of shoes?

So remember, with alligator hunting in full swing, be careful before you answer the door.  Just like any other wildlife, these guys know if you are after them or if your home is a place of refuge.

It's just Little Red Riding Hood, Grandma!
