Spring is in the air and it is lovely!

I mowed yesterday.  I love to mow.  It is one of the most relaxing activities I know.  Just you and your thoughts and the attempt to make the lines in the yard as perfectly straight as you possibly can.

We have a lot of wild onion grass in our yard.  Enough to make the eyes sting as I mow.  Yesterday, I had to take a tissue with me.  As I mowed, my eyes would well up and my nose would begin to run.  I would pause the mower (a John Deere Z425 zero turn radius~sweet mower!), dab at my eyes, blow my nose and move on.  The yard looks infinitely improved with that onion grass trimmed.

This morning, around 2:30 am, I went to let Paxton, the dog, outdoors to do his “good boy” and WOW!  the smell of onions about knocked me over! Powerful stuff, that onion grass!

I mowed over many tiny Forget Me Nots, Dandelions, some Clover, some itty bitty white flowers that come up every single Spring…I Love Spring!

Today while running with the running group, I noticed that the Japanese Magnolias are in bloom!  The Maple trees are doing their Spring “thing”.  There was a field crammed full of purple clover…tons of things in bloom!  I really love Spring!

We have wild Daffodils all over the place!  I think that is one of the coolest things about living in Mississippi!  I never knew that Daffodils grew wild!  Every Spring they pop up all over the place.  Gotta love it!

We passed a house that had turned their verge into a perfectly round smiley face!  I think that may have been taking things a bit too far, but hey, at least they are happy, right!?

We have seen brand new baby calves.  The co-ops are selling baby chicks and ducklings.  Everything is Spring!  Spring!  Spring!

Gotta love it!!!
