Today’s Run: Crutches…
I had shopping that needed to be done. Shopping that could only be done at WalMart. I am still on crutches. What to do…Go Shopping!!!
Shopping at WalMart is never, ever my favorite thing to do.
MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I went to Wally World to purchase my niece’s birthday present and oil filters/oil for the pick up trucks. They are due for an oil change.
I had checked on line for my niece’s birthday present. I wanted to make sure it was in stock. Wandering aimlessly around the toy department in WalMart while on those silly crutches…well, the idea was not appealing.
WalMart said they had the item in stock. Not only was it in stock, it was on sale! Cool Beans!
First things first: The parking lot in WalMart is NOT flat. I had never noticed that before. It is on an incline! I quickly learned that going uphill on crutches is difficult! Lesson learned…get dropped off at the door next time.
We got to the toy department. Couldn’t find the item. Boo. We asked for help. Fortunately, our helper knew where said item was located and we were able to get out of the toy department pretty fast.
Automotive.
They had the first oil filter but not the second. Had to look up the substitute. No big deal. Then MFH decided to compare motor oils. UGH. My good leg was getting very, very tired as were my arms.
MFH finally decided upon a motor oil. 10 gallons of motor oil and we were off to checkout! YAY for checkout.
I think we got in the slowest checkout lane in the store. Man, oh man. There was only one lady ahead of us, all her items were on the counter, and still it took over 15 minutes for the checkout lady to get the items scanned! Wowza! That was slow!!!
The checkout lady was a very nice lady, do not get me wrong. She just had to have a running commentary on every. single. item. you purchased. Like I said, nice lady, just not too terribly efficient. Not someone to put on the express checkout lane 🙂
We were able to get our shopping done in 45 min or so. Probably closer to an hour with the checkout.
It was an experience, let me tell you. People went out of their way to be nice to me. That was a different feeling. It was like the parting of the Red Sea in the Bible when I would come down an isle. I felt bad making people think that they had to move just for me…but it was very nice of them all the same.
Today, my arms and my good leg are very tired. I am going to “walk” the dog. That means, having MFH hold onto the dog with me tagging along behind. That will be today’s exercise. No uber long shopping trips today. That was enough for me!
